New CD Album Releases, 11-24-2009: Randy Newman, Boyz II Men, Susan Boyle There's a new soundtrack album this week for the Disney Princess and the Frog movie. It prominently features Randy Newman, and also a nice cut from Dr John. This sounds like better than average for some of the recent Disney movie songs. It'd at least be something worthwhile for a stocking stuffer for the shorties.
We also have an actual album after all the Susan Boyle hype. It's all covers, and I don't know if she's got any truly noteworthy re-arrangements of the songs. But she certainly is a good singer. I don't know that it's a classic for the ages or anything, but it sounds pretty listenable, at least.
Boyz II Men has a new album of love song covers. They definitely do some nice things in particular with Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time".
