I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.
Links
To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

Hot Plantation Belles for President Obama - Jack Squat for NAACP As an unreformed white male oppressor, I've generally had less than the greatest patience with most petty modern racial claims. You ought to be thrilled to be a black American. Best I can tell, it beats hell out of being a black man anywhere else - especially Africa. Like Randy Newman said, "It's great to be an American."
Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- They're part of a long standing tradition that will soon become a part of Presidential history. The head of the Alabama NAACP, however, wants Mobile's Azalea Trail Maids to stay home on Inauguration Day, claiming the group reminds him of slavery.
"These are not just regular costumes. These are the costumes that remind someone of the plantation in Gone with the Wind," Edward Vaughn said in a phone interview.
Organizers stand behind the tradition, but opponents say tradition is the problem.
"We needed something that could show Alabama's great progress rather than something that shows a shameful past," Vaughn said.
I will enter this display from the Alabama NAACP as evidence that the NAACP and the professional black civil rights groups have not only outlived their usefulness, but long since descended into simply ridiculous and arbitrary things to bitch about cause the underlying racism they were created to fight is largely gone. This is a really super lame attempt at justifying his continued salary and reverence. Edward Vaughn needs a real job.
We can't have anything like a representation of a Southern belle now because that's somehow racist. I mean really, look at these gals. Those are distinctly NOT Klan robes, but just nice big fluffy ball gowns. Plus, some of these belles are black, so it's an integrated dance troupe.
Plus, really now, this is controversy about participating in the presidential inaugaration. Who's running the plantation now? They're going there to celebrate the inaugaration of the nation's first black president.
Don't let those bigots get away with it. Stand up with the NAACP!
