I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.

To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

Greensburg Indiana Honda Plant Opens It's a rough time in the US economy here at the end of 2008. Stock market's to hell, times are tough. Now the big American automakers are a half step from absolute bankruptcy unless the federal govenment doles out tens of billions more dollars for them to keep losing for another year before they go bankrupt.
Creditors would probably in fact revamp the companies and keep their better products in production. Yet if GM and Ford both went down the tubes and completely quit producing cars at all, there'd be plenty of American made cars to buy. Indeed, the better companies would probably build more plants and hire more Americans.
Oh wait, they just did that down here in my neighborhood, just around the way in Greensburg, Indiana. Honda just today had the grand opening of their new production facilities in Greensburg, which involves I'm sure several thousand good new factory jobs.
From the Indianapolis Star:
Hundreds of Honda workers joined executives of the Japanese automaker, Gov. Mitch Daniels and other dignitaries for a celebratory plant dedication ceremony.
The production lines turned silent for nearly an hour as workers gathered a makeshift stage with nightclub-like lights and music.
"On behalf of Honda associates around the world, I want to welcome you to the Honda family," said Takeo Fukui, president and CEO of Honda motor Co. Ltd.
Honda employees drove an Indiana-produced Civic off the production line to applause.
Receiving nearly as many cheers, Honda also announced that a portion of the Civics built in Greensburg will be Civic GXs. This environmentally friendly version of Honda's top selling car runs on natural gas.
Daniels said the plant's existence proves that Indiana can compete in a tough, global economy.
"We all know that these are not the best of times," he told the gathering on plant floor. But, he added, "a great product like the Civic will always find a customer."
Now if the Detroit dinosaurs would just kindly lumber of peaceably to the tar pits and free up labor and capitol for folks that know how to run a frickin' business.
