I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.
Links
To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

The Methamphetamine of the People Ralph Peters is an always excellent and thoughtful reporter and analyst. Today he has a column arguing that we shouldn't be too happy over the severe economic setbacks from recession and falling oil prices among our adversaries, particularly Putin's Russia.
Broadly, the more you got to lose, the less risky behavior you're likely to engage in. Putin stopped halfway across Georgia based on what kind of most likely economic punishment he might get if he went all the way. But the Russian stock market is off 80% from a year ago, and foreign investors want nothing to do with them now anyway. So what more damage could the Europeans or Americans really do, short of actually sending troops for a shooting war?
I particularly note all this because I was caught by this excellent Quote O' the Day:
"Leaders with failures in their laps like the distraction wars provide. (If religion is the opium of the people, nationalism is their methamphetamine.)"
