I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.

To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

Ball State University Porno Film Another little sign of prestige for my alma mater, Ball State University: Glass Ceiling Studios has just released a DVD porn movie called Vampire Diaries, filmed at Ball State University's Virginia Ball Center for Creative Inquiry. According to the StarPress:
[Director Christopher] Gregory said he recruited about five Ball State students as part of Vampire Diaries' cast. The film's plotline follows Dracula's daughter as she makes an appearance in the 21st century as a 23-year-old college student exploring her sexuality.
When scouting for a local place to film, Gregory said he contacted Virginia Ball Center director Joe Trimmer and received permission to film inside the Kitselman Center in August 2004, according to the location agreement signed by both Trimmer and Gregory.
Trimmer, however, was unaware the film would be pornographic.
"We would have never signed a location release had we known this would be the content," said Trimmer, who was unaware of the adult film's release until notified by The Star Press on Wednesday. "That was not the film that was depicted to us."
According to details of the location agreement, the Kitselman Center gave Gregory, a Delta High School graduate, permission to shoot scenes for what he pitched to the university in 2004 as a horror movie tentatively titled Night Scream.
Trimmer also asked for a copy of Gregory's resume, which listed previous work such as directing episodes of MTV's The Real World and developing a children's TV series for PBS.
I can understand Ball State not appreciating having a porn movie filmed on campus - though it doesn't look like they have any legitimate legal complaint. But then, they were just fine with the idea of a horror film being made there. That'd probably be considerably worse in my judgment, depending on the content. I'd much rather have my old school associated with what sounds like a relatively high-class porn film than, say, Freddie Kreuger - much less those awful Saw movies.
In short, a lot of horror films are merely violent pornography, eliciting prurient thrills at the depiction of murder, death and human suffering. Debbie doing Dallas wouldn't particularly do much to enhance the intellectual reputation of BSU - but neither would a slasher flick. Besides damage to some imagined intellectual prestige, people are generally doing much less damage to their souls and karma by watching porn than by watching slasher flicks.
