I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.
Links
To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

Alan Keyes steps in it Alan Keyes is too smart and thoughtful to say stuff this stupid, especially as a candidate for US Senate. From an interview with SIRIUS satellite radio, via Drudge:
Keyes said: "The essence of ... family life remains procreation. If we embrace homosexuality as a proper basis for marriage, we are saying that it's possible to have a marriage state that in principal excludes procreation and is based simply on the premise of selfish hedonism."
Asked whether that meant Mary Cheney "is a selfish hedonist," Keyes said: "That goes by definition. Of course she is."
I dig Keyes generally. He's smart, articulate, and principled. Yet he says some absolutely asinine nonsense like this.
For starters, he's got this underlying issue of sex and selfishness. What, sex is supposed to be an act of altruism? Getting off is somewhere near to the most naturally selfish act possible. I've never heard of a guy at the moment of climax shouting, "This I do in the name of the proletariat!"
So what exactly does he expect Ms Cheney to do, exactly? Should she deny herself the relationship that will give her satisfaction in favor of forcing herself to endure a joyless heterosexual relationship for the altruistic purpose of making babies?
Since when was procreation an altruistic act anyway? Parents have children for their own gratification in a thousand ways. Hopefully the bonding with the children will draw you out of the narrow perspective of your own consciousness. Nonetheless, it's not an act of charity to have children, nor would it be good to make it as such. What kind of thing would it be to put off on a child that you had them out of some selfless sense of duty?
Yet here's this really smart fellow confusing his little Christian conservative worldview with all of reality. Does he not get that other people don't see things the same way as him? Does he thing that Mary Cheney sits around thinking, "Screw the world, I'm getting mine. Ha!"?
Now, Ambassador Keyes doesn't set off my gaydar, but this statement is curious. It seems to be implied that homosexual behavior is hedonistic - what you'd do for fun, as opposed to the selfless duty of heterosexual conformity.
Whatever. I just know that a couple more dumb, hurtful comments like this, and I won't mind the beatdown that Obama's getting ready to hand him.
