I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.

To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

Macy Gray Big Review and Photo Gallery
I long ago pledged undying love and devotion to Natalie Renee McIntyre aka Macy Gray, and she's never let me down. Give or take KD Lang and Sinead O'Connor, Macy may be the singingest bitch walking the planet. Besides which, she's an outstanding songwriter, and has conjured up some of the best production - arrangements and record making - in all of pop music today. The usual knock against her is that she's retro and not somehow innovative stylistically. But the records she's turning out now couldn't have come from 1975. She's old and new at once.
Anyway, I have a fairly ecstatic testimonial up now for her new 2007 album Big. The song "Ghetto Love" in particular has the inside track at this point for record of the year. It's ghetto fabulous if there was ever a record that deserves that accolade. It's just that good. Then of course there is the "Strange Behavior" of two newlyweds whose marital bliss is disrupted by big fat life insurance policies.
Best I can tell, Big hasn't made much impression commercially. Consider this evidence that the major record companies are worthless dinosaurs that should be knocked in the back of the head. If they can't sell something this good, they're useless.
In addition to this new review, I was so stoked that I've dug up 160+ photos for a honkin' new collection I call Macy Gray's Beautiful Nappy Headed Photo Gallery. Enjoy.
