I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.
Links
To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

New Album Releases, August 1, 2006 There's absolutely not one damned thing in new music this week that looks like it would be likely worth even a passing listen. The biggest name release is DMX Year of the Dog Again. This opus apparently breaks artistic ground by exploring the theme of women as bitches, and also the popping of caps into the asses of Negroes.
I've seen some good buzz on Kill Hannah Until There's Nothing Left of Us. If you've just got a fetish for the new, you could try that.
Meantime, there are always the re-issues and compilations. Rhino has a single disc Buck Owens collection that'd be a likely starting place if you don't have any, 21 #1 Hits: The Ultimate Collection.
There's also an Elvis Presley r&b collection. Obviously they have to keep finding ways to re-process the Elvis catalogue. If you're going to do that, looking for stylistic themes like this is better than the 200th randomly selected hits collection.
Also, there some groovy sounding jazz re-issues from Dizzy Gillespie and Billie Holiday among others.
