I wouldn't want to ask people to just give me money cause they like my website, but do please take a quick look at Barger's Boutique. You might find yourself a little something-something for 2 or 3 bucks that you just can't resist! Any of the round images you find around MoreThings will get you to an Amazon page to buy my stuff and help ol' Al keep the lights on.
Links
To explicitly state the obvious, these external links go to interesting and provocative websites, but they speak for themselves. I don't necessarily agree with anything they say - especially that no-goodnik Richard Marcus.

Remembering John Lennon's Death John Lennon was murdered 25 years ago today on December 8, 1980. There are quite a few stories and memorials and such on this anniversary of his passing.
I don't put much stock in this particular thing myself on several counts. For starters, there's the idea of celebrating his life, not his death. I'd be more inclined to celebrate his birthday- or better yet significant professional milestones ie the anniversary of Rubber Soul.
Marking his death like this also tends to draw out the worst, most pious and most UN-John type of talk. It encourages people to treat him like some kind of martyr, and also to give absolutely unearned significance to the fool that shot him. To me, the most poignant story of that sad day was that of the doctors and nurses trying vainly to resuscitate him.
Marking this anniversary just invites people to make John Lennon into a cheap plastic dashboard saint. Besides being distasteful, this does not reflect the real person nor his true values.
Worst of all, it's just begging for people to stand in the dark with lit candles singing that damned stupid "Imagine" song. At this point, I swear I hate that song worse than Huck Finn hated church on Sunday morning, and for similar reasons. Makes me want to shoot somebody myself.
Besides which, life is for the living. At this point, I've got a revolution to fight. Jack White is waiting in the wings to be installed as El Presidente, and there are conspiracies to manage.
So, I'ma get back to plotting the overthrow of the government- but not until I blast a bit of John singing about being the "Bad Boy." That'll clear the air of all this damned piety.
